I just finished watching Last Laugh '07 with Lewis Black, Dave Attell, and D.L. Hughley. While the three comedians used the occasion to riff on celebrities and the oddities that made the year what it was, there was a chance at the end to ask the trio about events and politics.

Someone asked about the Jena 6, and Hughley replied:

I'm never shocked when I watch what goes on in the world. If you don't know something in this country, it's because you don't want to know. Everything's available to us, so I think that goes on because people simply don't give a ****. If we did, it wouldn't happen. It really wouldn't.

Knowledge is a choice.
