CoolPeopleCare.org Expands Social Awareness Web Site to Madison

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The creators of CoolPeopleCare.org, a social awareness Web site based in Nashville, Tenn., today announce the expansion of the Web site to Madison, Wis. effective December 1.

Madison is the 43nd featured city for the site, which highlights the everyday things individuals can do to improve their community. The site also lists nonprofit and charitable events for each city served.

The addition of Madison coincides with the visit of one of the site’s co-founder’s, Sam Davidson. He will be visiting Madison to speak Wednesday night about social entrepreneurship and how young people can turn their passion into their profession. The event is co-hosted by Madison Magnet and the UW-Madison Office of Corporate Relations.

Davidson, who is also the President of the CoolPeopleCare, Inc., says "We're very excited to add Madison to our list of cities served. Madison is nationally known as a very cool city, so this is a great opportunity to connect motivated individuals with opportunities to give back locally."

Launched in August 2006 in Nashville, CoolPeopleCare.org is an offering of CoolPeopleCare, Inc., a company begun by Davidson and Stephen Moseley, Vice-President. Madison is the site's first city in Wisconsin.

Since its launch, the site has served more than 500,000 visitors.

The Web site's signature feature, "5 Minutes of Caring," is a 99-word daily article featuring helpful hints, practical tips and links to inform readers of the many ways in which they may make a difference in less than five minutes a day. Those who come for this information are directed towards ways to make a difference in their local communities.

Wednesday’s event is also coming fresh on the heels of the release of Davidson’s first book, New Day Revolution: How to Save the World in 24 Hours, which was published on November 1 by Xyzzy Press.
