A&E in HD (Sort of)

Dear A&E:

Thanks for adding the HD channel here in Nashville. I appreciate more options in the HD lineup, as it makes me feel better about what I'm paying each month in order to see the beads of sweat on basketball players and the puck in a hockey game.

However, it really defeats the purpose when very few of your shows are actually in HD. You seem to be proud of your 24 and CSI reruns - just update the format so Jack Bauer and all of the explosions are even more epic.

Also, I do enjoy your Saturday program, "Flip This House." I would like that shot in HD from now on. Thanks.

Sam

Not for nothin' but...

Is HD solely about picture quality? And is it so much better that what we've been used to just seems unacceptable?

Just curious.

I think HD is amazing, and it is better than what we've been watching. But I won't NOT watch something because it's standard format. But I WILL watch something because it's HD. For example, I watched "Killer Tigers of India" this morning on Discovery Channel HD.

The other thing it's good for is hockey. You can actually see the puck flying around, so it doesn't look like a bunch of big dudes skating real fast.
