Update: Part III

Well, I finally deleted the ‘Jobs’ folder on my bookmark toolbar. After over two years of not feeling at home professionally, I have arrived. (at least for the next few years as I call myself a student again.)

Once again, I will be coordinating the NYL program at the Oasis Center. Along with other responsibilities, I will help students learn that leaders are those who have a story to tell. This program has been a highlight of my life since August and as this year wraps up, I am excited at the prospect of working with another set of tenth graders.

I believe in what the Oasis Center does for teenagers and their families and I feel as though I belong at the organization. I will be able to dig deeper now and get involved on many more different levels than I have before. My position at Oasis will compliment the set of skills I will be learning at Vanderbilt, and I really believe that three years from now I will be able to confidently and ably tell the stories that need telling and teach others to do the same.

I may even get business cards this time. And, if you want the hotel discount, you better use it while it’s hot.
