Here I Go Again

Nearly a year ago, I stopped posting on this site. In hopes of being seen as a 'serious' writer with real samples, I bought and maintained samdavidson.net with the help of my friend Matt Burgess. While I will still occasionally use that site to publish articles that are polished and fit for use, I have decided to re-visit the blog world.
I left a year ago because I thought that anything with .blogspot in it would be considered illegitimate. That no one would want to read thoughts on a site like that other than family members. But, I was wrong. As I have seen with my sisters' and wife's blogs, if you write it, they will come.
So here I am again, not looking for a home for a resume, but a hotel for my thoughts. With a blog, I will update and write more frequently (I say this knowing it is an idle promise of many a blogger) in hopes of generating interest and comments from around the world (at least from around the house?).
It's funny: what I believed to be illegitimate and 'not good enough' trumped my incorrect thoughts and proved me wrong. I think a healthy spirituality has an openness to such an occurrence. A strong faith is one that leaves a little room for the what ifs, for the maybes, and for the told-you-so's.
I heard a sermon this Sunday dealing with false teachers and how we as Christians can avoid them and expose their lies by clinging tightly to Scripture. After all, the Good Book + 1 is always a majority and the majority is always right. But let us remember, the Pharisees thought they were right, too.
May we be open to being proved wrong, because in the end we don't lose - truth wins.

Welcome back. Dare I ask where you heard such a fine sermon?

welcome back.. oh wait, i wasn't around when you left.. i suppose a "Hi, pleased to meet you" is appropriate. please don't flatter revjay.. he doesn't need to get a bigger head for that character of his.

I'll be tuning in to hear your thoughts as well, thanks to dear old smelly lynnette! ;-)
